Most health plans cover therapy sessions, but the exact cost depends on your specific plan. Here are the basics of how it usually works:
Copays vs. Deductibles: Most people typically pay a simple copay (a fixed amount, like $25), per visit. However, if your specific plan requires you to meet your deductible before coverage kicks in, you will pay the full session rate until that annual limit is reached. After that, you only pay coinsurance, which is typically much less or completely covered.
Checking Your Rate Online: You can often find this info quickly by logging into your insurance website. Search your benefits for "Outpatient Mental Health" or "Behavioral Health" to see your specific cost per visit.
No Surprises: We always verify your benefits before our first session to make sure you know exactly what to expect.
The "EOB": After sessions, your insurance sends an Explanation of Benefits. It’s just a receipt showing what they covered and the "Patient Responsibility" (what you owe).
Navigating insurance can be confusing and sometimes frustrating, but we aim to make our services as accessible as possible. Please reach out for a consultation if you have any questions, or would like to inquire about other ways to access our care.

Alma and Headway are secure platforms that help us with the “behind-the-scenes” parts of therapy—things like scheduling, insurance verification, and billing. They’re both HIPAA-compliant and designed specifically for mental health care.
We do this to increase accessibility and make it easier for people with different insurance plans to work with us, without you having to juggle multiple portals on your own. No matter which platform we use on the back end, you’ll still meet with the same therapist and receive the same level of care.

If your insurance plan is not listed above, you can still work with us. We are happy to provide a monthly Superbill—a specialized medical receipt—that you can submit to your insurance company. Many plans with out-of-network benefits will reimburse you for a significant portion of your session costs. Please check with your provider to verify your coverage.

For clients who prefer not to use insurance, or who do not have coverage, we offer a straightforward standard private pay rate of $125 per session. Choosing private pay allows for maximum privacy and ensures that your care is not dictated by insurance plan limitations.
For those with financial constraints and without coverage, we are happy to offer a sliding-scale based fee. Please reach out for a consultation to discuss what works for you!
